The popular Donkey Day is on Tuesday 7th August this year, from 10 am to 2 pm at Cornerways, Sea Road.

Between 12 and 1 pm there is opportunity to give the handsome donkeys Teddy and Patch a carrot or two. There will also be a raffle, tombola, games, stalls and refreshments available throughout the afternoon. Admission is 50p, children free and sorry no dogs allowed. The proceeds are in aid of the Sara Lee Trust and The Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth.

The Mobile Library will be in Sea Road at the usual time of 11.55 am to 12.30 pm on Wednesday 8th August.

The skateboard ramp at Icklesham has proved very popular with the young people in the area. Since the school holidays it has been in frequent use which is also good news for parents knowing where they are. It is now hoped that a permanent ramp system will soon be in place in Icklesham and also that Winchelsea Beach young people will have the opportunity of a similar structure.

There will be no St Richard’s Fellowship Lunch in August. The next one will be held on Friday 28th September at 12 for 12.30 pm in the Community Hall.

Jempson’s at Peasmarsh have recently amended the Shopper Bus service timetable and I am passing the information on to you. This service runs through Winchelsea every Friday at 9 am calling at the Bridge Inn and then Winchelsea Beach at 9.45 am that morning. The bus will conveniently stop anywhere it is safe to do so along its route and a return fare is only £1.
