Woman to stand trial

A WOMAN from Bognor Regis will stand trial after being charged with assisting a man accused of evading tax payments.

Kelly Drew (29), of Maple Gardens, was alleged to have deposited an undisclosed amount of laundered money into her bank between March 2005 and April 2006.

The money was allegedly given to her by David Reynolds, of Hassocks, but he denied one count of contributing criminal property at Chichester Crown Court on Friday, October 31.

He also pleaded not guilty to three counts of evading tax payments and two counts of producing false documents.

Drew denied assisting Reynolds. A four-week trial will start on June 15 at the crown court next year.

Both defendants were released on conditional bail and had their passports retained.
