Worthing's High Street Honey needs your vote

AN ASPIRING model from Salvington is hitting the town in her bid to win a national magazine's beauty competition.

Lads' mag FHM has chosen beautiful 21-year-old Danielle Powys-Keck, from Offington Lane, as one of their top 100 High Street Honeys.

The competiton attracted more than 50,000 entries and, if voted the overall winner, the former Chatsmore schoolgirl will be 10,000 better off and the star of an FHM cover spread.

Danielle has decided public exposure will be the key to voting success, with trips around Worthing at the weekend and a bombardment of leaflets and posters the main strategies.

"I'm really going to give it a go," said Danielle, "so many girls are going to go to such lengths to win."

She was nominated for the competition by 20-year-old boyfriend Adam Coughlan, who stands to pocket a tidy 2,000 himself if his girlfriend wins.

The current round of voting goes on until October 6, when the girls are whittled down to a top ten. Another round of voting then decides the overall winner.

"I'm going to try so, so hard to get the votes," said Danielle, "I'm going to put posters up everywhere."

Mum Pauline Van Der Hage, 50, said she was proud of her daughter's success.

She said: "I'm pleased for her. She seems quite keen. She has had two or three things come up recently, I hope it continues for her."

Anyone interested can see Danielle, otherwise known as number 89, in this month's FHM High Street Honeys special.
