I see that the Vote Leave referendum campaign state that our ‘independent’ United Kingdom opposed no less than 72 European Union proposed laws in the Council of Ministers and none of our votes made any difference; all the laws were passed by the EU contrary to UK interests.
The Vote Leave researchers reckoned that we have had to pay out an extra £2.4bn annually because of EU authority over Britain’s interests.
I think it sad that Lord Stuart Rose has been recruited to lead the stay-in EU campaign; he is clearly an astute business man but never, ever a politician.
Yes, he may well have dabbled in overseas contracts but I doubt he has illegal immigrants living next door to his abode or ever sat in the EU Parliament to witness the 27 other EU nations succumbing to herd instincts voting against him!
As in any herd species, it is the individual that is different that gets attention and Britain is certainly very different to the rest of the continental states; we are an island, a monarchy, a powerful sterling currency nation with an enviable Commonwealth trade which we hold in reserve.
As so many rightly profess, ‘the EU needs us more than we need them’.
