AGE CANNOT WITHER THESE FIVE-A-SIDERS

FIVE-a-side is a fast, action- packed game. The ball is constantly on the move from one end to the other.

It is, you would think, a young person's game, but high-flying team The Clash, who are currently top of Pitch Invasion's Tuesday night Premier league at Chichester College of Technology, have in their team three players with a combined age of more than 150 and almost as many years in football experience.

Forget Teddy Sheringham, who is a mere whippersnapper at the age of 41; meet the true golden oldies: Jerry Goddard (55), Jon Ridges and Robbie Graham, who will both turn 50 early next year.
