AGONY AGAIN FOR LITTLEHAMPTON
FOR the second consecutive year Littlehampton Golf Club are beaten Davies & Tate finalists after losing 8-4 to Copthorne in Saturday's final at Royal Eastbourne.
Even though Littlehampton's Wayne Hawes and Chris Sykes had an emphatic 6&4 victory over Mark Logan and Doug Arnold in the foursomes, Copthorne had taken a firm grip of the title after taking a 3-1 lead in the foursomes.
That margin did not reflect the difference between the teams. Two Littlehampton pairs '” Hiddy Jahan and Darryl Minton and Lee Murley and Jamie Carruthers '” both lost their matches on the last green.
