ARUNDEL CC LAY OUT SUSSEX LEAGUE PLAN

JUST TWO years ago, Arundel Cricket Club wanted to create a breakaway league but now they have announced an ambitous five-year plan to be playing Sussex League cricket by 2010.

The breakaway league was discussed after Arundel felt the Sussex Invitation League was too competitive. Now, they want to promote junior cricket, which is the driving force behind their County League dreams.

Club captain Will Clark said: "The overall development of Arundel CC is focused on gaining entry into the County League by 2010.

"Whilst this may strike some as a little ambitious, the Committee whole-heartedly believes that it has the policies in place to realise their goal.

"A growing reputation for junior cricket, the opportunity for men's cricket at all levels, and the ongoing up-grading of facilities, makes the next five years an exciting time to be involved with the club."
