HASTINGS Priory and Bexhill experienced mixed fortunes in the latest round of fixtures in the Sussex Cricket Premier League.

Title hopefuls Priory were left frustrated by the wet weather which forced the abandonment of their match away to Roffey.

Bexhill, meanwhile, boosted their hopes of avoiding the drop by chalking up a second successive league win.

They triumphed by five wickets at home to Brighton & Hove after dismissing the visitors for 181 off 53.1 overs. Young spin twins Jamie Bristow-Diamond (5-75) and Callum Guest (4-38) did the damage.

In reply, Malcolm Johnson scored a steady 49 before Bexhill slumped to 82-5. Tim Hambridge (57 not out) and 15-year-old Cameron Burgon (39 not out) saw them over the line with an unbroken sixth stand of 100.
