Champs feeling under the weather

SIDLEY United will play Horsham YMCA at home on Saturday January 26 if the weather holds out.

With just three Sussex One matches played since the beginning of December and six games postponed, the Gullivers side s title defence is suffering from a fixture backlog.

Joint manager Peter Heritage said: "We have several games in hand but really we d prefer to have the points on the board.

"It s something we can t help and although there is no substitute for playing it s important that we keep training hard.

The latest game to fall foul of the weather was the rescheduled game away to Hassocks.

If the pitch does get the all clear, the United players will have an added incentive to do well as Horsham YMCA s manager John Suter is also in charge of the Sussex team.
