At this early stage of the season they sit second from bottom in Division 4 after promotion from the West Sussex Invitation League last year.

They drew with Hellingly on Saturday, their second drawn match of the season, and they have also suffered one defeat and a cancellation.

The skipper is sure the best is yet to come from his team, who face basement side Lewes Priory on Saturday.

Glover said: “We knew the first couple of games would be tough, but we need to look to win Saturday. We are finding our feet a bit still in this league, but we are more than good enough and should not be where we are and I am confident we will not be there at the end of the season.

“We have some winnable games coming up and things are starting to click as well, as the new guys are settling in now, but we could do with the luck of the draw a bit, too.

“It’s only three games in and we are not worrying too much and I think we will get stronger and stronger.”
