There will be a question-and-answer session for young players to share in Cook’s experience and talent. And there will be time for pictures and autographs with a high-profile player well-recognised not only in the cricketing world but globally for his charity work.

Cook is England ODI captain and has secured the No2 spot in the England batting order alongside Test captain Andrew Strauss and has been scoring consistently in this position for many years.

He made his Test debut in 2006 in India after captaining England’s under-19s for a year. In his opening Test he scored a memorable 60 and his first England 100. Since then Cook has gone from strength to strength.

Attaining visits from such class players underlines how far GS&M has come - from a little shop in Oving Road 17 years ago to a major retailer, based on the Quarry Lane indsustrial estate, supplying to many sports clubs in the area.
