Bexhill and Common start with cup ties

Bexhill's two senior football clubs will begin their 2016/17 seasons with cup matches.

Bexhill United and Little Common will be in Peter Bentley Challenge Cup first round action on Saturday August 6, after the opening fixtures were announced today (Friday).Common will travel to Langney Wanderers and Bexhill are away to Saltdean United in a pair of all-Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One ties.The league games will kick-off the following Saturday, with Bexhill away to Oakwood (where they lost 7-2 on the opening day last season) and Common at St Francis Rangers, newly relegated from the Premier Division.The first midweek fixture of the new term will see Bexhill head to Ringmer on Tuesday August 16. Further matches will be announced in due course.

Bexhill's scheduled pre-season friendly away to AFC Uckfield Town tomorrow (Saturday) has been cancelled.
