Bexhill United picked up a very creditable 2-2 draw away to Broadbridge Heath on Saturday.
A below strength Bexhill side fell behind to a Piers McDermott goal after half-an-hour, but Tristan Jarvis levelled just before the break and Jacob Shelton put them ahead 10 minutes into the second half.
Jake Holmes equalised for Heath - who won away to Bexhill in the Sussex RUR Charity Cup last month - inside the last 20 minutes to keep them two points above Bexhill with two games in hand.
Elsewhere in the division, Little Common and Westfield both suffered 3-1 defeats at home to Oakwood and Haywards Heath Town respectively despite taking the lead.
Martin Denny put Common ahead, but Ben Jenner levelled for Oakwood before half time and the visitors struck twice after the break to complete the turnaround. Darren Tidy scored from the penalty spot and Sam Cane’s effort deflcted in off Jerome Smith.
Westfield opened the scoring through a cracking free kick by Jethro Warren only for Heath to go in level at the interval via Naim Rouane. Jamie Wanstall and Mark Fiest sealed the points for Heath as the game got away from Westfield after the restart.
