Big night of football in store

Hastings United will resume their Ryman Football League Division One South programme with what promises to be a testing trip to Sittingbourne.

The U’s will make the journey across the county border in good heart following their terrific come-from-behind FA Cup victory away to Whyteleafe on Saturday which extended their unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions.

But Sittingbourne are going well in sixth place with 17 points from nine matches and boast the division’s equal second best defensive record having conceded just eight goals so far.

United are down in 16th with nine points from eight outings, yet Tim Olorunda and Jordan Johnson are set to return from suspension, and Kenny Pogue should be back having been cup-tied at the weekend.

Elsewhere tonight, crosstown rivals Bexhill United and Little Common will be targeting three more points in Macron Store Sussex County Football League Division Two.

Bexhill will be aiming to continue their unbeaten start in the league when they travel to bottom-of-the-table Seaford Town. Bexhill have picked up seven points from their first three games, while Seaford have yet to open their account.

After an indifferent start to the season, Common have won their last three fixtures in all competitions and will be eager to keep the run going when they host a Saltdean United side which has accrued four points from as many games so far.

The Hastings match will kick-off at 7.45pm, while the games involving Common and Bexhill will get underway at 7.30pm.
