The Commoners have been reinstated in the Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Peter Bentley Challenge Cup after the team which knocked them out was removed from the competition.

Common were narrowly beaten 2-1 away to Broadbridge Heath in the quarter-finals on Tuesday March 1, but Heath have been found to have used an ineligible player so the tie has been awarded to Common.

The Commoners will face Lancing in the semi-finals on Tuesday April 12 at Eastbourne United AFC and the winners will play Newhaven or Horsham in the final.

Common are eighth in Division One following their 3-2 victory at home to Langney Wanderers last night, while Lancing are fifth in the Premier Division and only three points outside the top three.

Common had pulled off three good victories to reach the quarter-finals, knocking out runaway Division One leaders Haywards Heath Town, local rivals Bexhill United and Oakwood.
