Revealed! Brighton duo ranked among European elite in 'most valuable' list

Brighton currently have two of the most valuable young talents in Europe on their books, according to the CIES Football Observatory.

The trusted database have compiled a list of the most promising players born in the year 2000 or later, and have given each a value based on an algorithm that considers factors such as age, contract duration, career progression, and the economic and sporting level of the club they currently represent.

Taking all of those variables into account, the analytical body found that Seagulls duo Tariq Lamptey and Aaron Connolly are both in the top 100 across Europe’s top five leagues.

20-year-old Connolly, who already has four international caps to his name for the Republic of Ireland, came in at 40th with a valuation of £13.4 million.

Lamptey, who has enjoyed a breakout campaign so far this term, was ranked 58th, with a valuation of £9.27 million.

The 20-year-old full-back has been a standout performer in the Premier League since it restarted in September, and has caught the eye with a number of high energy performances on the right flank, including a goal-scoring turn against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Elsewhere on the list, Manchester United starlet Mason Greenwood is the most valuable English top flight player overall, with a valuation of £103.7 million.

Manchester City’s Ferran Torres and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka round out the Premier League’s top three.

Taking all five leagues into account, Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies is the most valuable youngster on the continent, with a price tag £162.1 million.

Borussia Dortmund pair Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland, as well as Ansu Fati of Barcelona, round out the top five alongside Greenwood.
