Brighton have 28 players in their squad and the head coach feels that number is too high for a winning group dynamic.
Polish Midfielder Jakub Moder and attacker Percy Tau are set to join in January and that means players will be allowed to leave to make way and freshen up the squad.
Last Tuesday's loss against Arsenal sees Albion just two points above the drop and Fulham, who are just below Brighton, have a game in hand on.

1. Jayson Molumby
Struggled to force his way into the starting XI. Featured in preseason and in the Carabao but the Ireland international has not made the breakthrough he would have wanted. Had a successful loan in the Championship with Millwall last season and may look for another spell. "It's not beyond the realms," said Graham Potter when asked if Molumby will be loaned out.
2. Maty Ryan
Lost his No 1 spot to 6ft 6in Spaniard Robert Sanchez and hard to see a way back for Ryan at the moment. Has been excellent for Brighton since their promotion to the PL and no doubt a number of clubs will be interested in his services if he departs.
3. Chris Walton
Many expected Walton to challenge Ryan this season rather than Sanchez. An ankle injury sustained in preseason against Chelsea hindered his progress. The 25-year-old Is fit once again and could well look for a loan move in January to kick-start his career
4. Bernardo
The left sided Brazilian has been out of the picture this season. A surprise inclusion against Arsenal last time out but hard to see him enjoying a sustained run in the team. Linked with West Ham last summer and may seriously look at his options this January
