Johnson, who was the top-scorer and player-of-the-season last year, left the club to join Ryman Premier League side Burgess Hill last month.

Dalgleish accepts that he will be a massive loss to the side but believes they have a ready made replacement in Nathan Miles.

Miles could only manage three appearances for the Southern Combination Football League Premier League side last campaign.

However, Dalgleish revealed he is now back, fitting fit and ready to lead the line for Hassocks once again.

He said: “Obviously losing Phil is a massive blow and that would be the case for any side.

“I wish him all the best at Burgess Hill and hope he does well with them.

“He is a different type of player, explosive, and will be a great addition for them.

“We are hoping to dual sign him aswell so if, for whatever reason, he is not involved with them he can come back and get some game time with us.

“But I’m delighted Nathan is back fit and raring to go.

“In previous seasons he has netted 20 goals in a season for us and we want him back doing that again for us.”

Hassocks kicked off their pre-season programme with and impressive 3-2 success over Lewes on Saturday.

They have also been boosted by the arrivals of Shane Collins and Josh Hawkes both from St.Francis Rangers.

Dalgleish is delighted to have completed deals for the pair and is hopeful of a few more additions in the lead up to the new season.

He added: “I’m really pleased we have got both Josh and Shane with us now.

“They will add something different to the team and hopefully be successful here.
