CHELSEA have told Atletico Madrid to pay £5m if they want Thibaut Courtois to play against them in the Champions League semi-finals.

Highly-rated keeper Courtois is in his third season on loan at Atletico and both his current club and his parent club have made the semis.

Roberto Martinez has described as “ridiculous” Arsene Wenger’s criticism of the loan system, and the unfair advantage he claims it gives to clubs like Everton.

The Arsenal boss unleashed a diatribe after his Gunners side were thrashed by the Blues at Goodison last weekend, and he claimed the three loan players Lukaku, Barry and Deulofeu gave the opposition an advantage they could otherwise not afford.

Moyes is shifting his focus on a summer overhaul at Old Trafford after he side were dumped out of Europe by Bayern Munich last night.

Bayern’s 4-2 aggregate defeat leaves United facing at least a 15-month absence from Europe’s elite club competition with the Red Devils currently seventh in the Premier League.
