The U’s will host Ryman Football League Division One South’s basement club Whitstable Town this afternoon (Saturday). Kick-off at The Pilot Field is 3pm.

United manager Wilson said: “You can’t take it for granted you will get the three points, but it’s one we need to win. We can’t trip up in this one.”

United needed a 95th minute winner from Sean Ray to triumph in the reverse fixture during January, but Wilson believes the vastly better Pilot Field pitch will suit them far more.

Although Jack Walder starts a five-match ban, United yesterday signed 19-year-old central defender Mitchell Dickenson on a 30-day loan from Gillingham and he is expected to go straight into the squad.

Simon Johnson hopes to be fit after missing the last two fixture with an Achilles problem, but the midfielder may well not be risked from the start.
