John Scarborough headed the opener in the 18th minute from a Charley Robertson free kick and Josh Stanford had a simple tap in for number two after United failed to clear.

United responded by making a double change, with Sean Ray and Kevant Serbony replacing Chris Cumming-Bart and Jack McLean, and switching from a 4-4-2 formation to 3-5-2.

Dean Grant shot just wide of United’s goal late in the first half before scoring Faversham’s third less than two minutes into the second period, firing home after Liam King dragged his shot across goal.

United goalkeeper Joe Taylor pulled off a super stop to deny Kieron Campbell before the visitors came close to a late consolation when Sam Cole’s shot was turned away by Faversham stopper William Godman.
