Eldridge said: "We know there is a league meeting shortly to discuss the possibility of returning to football in December.

"Until they have met and discussed matters we would be speculating as to what is going to happen. You read and hear a lot of things in the media regarding a further lockdown and if this was to happen then the decision would be taken out the league's control.

"If the decision is no football before Christmas then we have to respect that, as much as we would love to be back playing both with the adults and kids within the club we are understanding as to why this can't currently happen.

"Naturally the longer we go without playing this will impact on the season and the number of games that will need to played before the scheduled end date.

"Every grassroots club in the country in the same position and will be wanting to return to football at the earliest opportunity but ensuring that themselves and others are safe."
