United lost 6-5 on penalties after their second round tie away to Faversham Town had finished 1-1 at the end of the regulation 90 minutes.

Both the goals came in the dying minutes. United struck first in the 90th minute when substitute Tristan Jarvis scored with a lovely finish which went in off the post.

But Faversham equalised deep into added time, Matthew Bourne finding the net following a corner. And it was the hosts who scraped through in the subsequent shoot-out.

As expected, United fielded a youthful team which included youngsters Bradley Pritchard, Ollie Black, Sam Foulkes and Sonny Dullaway in the starting line-up, and Charlie Ball on the bench.

United: Nicholls, Pritchard (Ball), Black, Cruttwell, Rowe, Davies, Foulkes, Cole (Jarvis), Harris, Dullaway, Stannard.

The result means United are now just involved in one knockout competition and that's the FA Trophy, in which they will host league rivals South Park on Saturday.
