Westfield triumphed at home to fourth-bottom Rustington, while Bexhill prevailed away to second-bottom Midhurst & Easebourne in Sussex County Football League Division Two.

Jacob Shelton struck once in either half to take his tally for the season to 12 as Bexhill completed the double over Midhurst following their 5-0 victory at The Polegrove in the autumn. It was Bexhill’s first away success since the end of August.

Dominic Clarke netted twice in the second period as Westfield made it 10 points from a possible 12 and moved into the top nine for just about the first time this season.

See Friday’s Observers for full reports on both matches. Little Common’s scheduled game away to Steyning Town in the same division succumbed to a waterlogged pitch.
