The 27-year-old claimed the biggest win of her career when lifting the Belgium Open last month and travels up to Blackpool for the 10-day world championships in good heart. The event is taking place at the 5-star Imperial Hotel and the later stages will be televised on Eurosport next month. In the meantime, Stacey’s progress can be followed on the EPA website.

Although the local lady will be representing Ireland in the team event in Blackpool, her first major outing for her chosen country will be in the European Championships in Malta next February.
