Accomplished hammer thrower Louisa James has enjoyed a successful couple of weeks.
The 19-year-old from Sedlescombe firstly won the senior women’s event at the Sussex Track & Field Championships in Crawley with a championship record throw of 58.66m. It means that she has now won county gold at under-15, under-17, under-20 and senior level.
James, who is coached by her father Ron, then came fourth in the senior women’s event at the Bedford International Games Open last weekend with a new personal best of 60.86m.
The Sussex Coast College Hastings student trains in Hastings and her second claim club is Hastings AC, although she represents Shaftesbury Barnet first claim. James won gold at the IAAF World Youth Championships and Commonwealth Youth Games in 2011.
