Golf star Ben Evans has boosted his hopes of qualifying for the season-ending showdown on the European Challenge Tour.
The Staplecross-based professional moved up to 41st on the Challenge Tour Rankings on the back of a solid performance in China at the weekend.
The top 45 after the next two tournaments in China and Oman will qualify for the Challenge Tour Grand Final in Dubai next month.
Evans finished tied 23rd in the Shankai Classic at Chongqing Poly Golf Club, an event which was reduced from 72 holes to 54 because of bad weather.
The 27-year-old began with a level par round of 72 in which he mixed five birdies with five bogeys and followed that with a bogey-free two-under 70.
Evans, of Rye and Sedlescombe Golf Clubs, moved up seven places courtesy of a three-under final round 69 containing three birdies and one bogey. That gave him a five-under total of 211.
