Shaun Attrell boxed superbly to defeat the impressive Felix Kelly, of Tunbridge Wells, in Eastbourne on Saturday.

Attrell used all his skills to work his way inside the long reach of the much taller Kelly, catching him with some great shots in the first round.

The second round was even more one-sided as Attrell increased his workrate and came forward at every opportunity, not giving Kelly a chance to use his height advantage.

The third and final round nearly ended up in a stoppage as the West Hill boxer sensed victory and caught Kelly at will with some clinically accurate power shots which had him reeling back onto the ropes.

Attrell’s large group of supporters who had made the short trip from Hastings were on their feet applauding his fine performance at the end of the bout.

Attrell was given the belt to keep after his third defence and collected the new belt, which was specially made for this bout. The Hastings welterweight has defeated allcomers since winning the belt last year.

West Hill also had their impressive youth boxer Brandon Davis in action on the same show. Davis, who climbed off his sick bed to compete, made it a West Hill double by defeating C. McNicholas, of Dagenham Boxing Club.
