OLD REBELS? THEY'RE GENUINE HISTORY!

THE REUNITED Worrthing FC league and FA Cup glory team of the mid-1980s met again last month to play a charity match.

In part two of our report come comments and reaction from probably the four key men of that five-year period when Rebels won two lower division titles, then runners-up twice running in the Ryman Premier, all from the springboard of going the furthest the club have ever been inthe FA Cup '” to the second round proper '” in their first season together.

Manager Barry Lloyd and No 2 Keith Rowley were a highly effective combination of nous and camaraderie with Lloyd having come from Chelsea, Fulham and Yeovil. Already on board was Micky Edmonds, destined to be the club's greatest goalscorer and a Sussex footballing phenomenon. An awe inspiring example of practical know-how, individual flair, instinct, courage, appetite and arrogance, and left-footed surprises.
