Queens Road paves way to upset favourite at Lingfield

Lingfield Park’s fascinating seven race card is set to serve as the perfect antidote to the intoxicating uncertainty that has assaulted the senses so far in 2021. Here’s three to look out for on Tuesday from our tipster Jack Dawling.

The action gets under way at 12:40 in what looks a tricky handicap over a mile. Harry Dunlop and Luke Morris may have the key to unlocking the winner with MAXINE, who is looking to score for the time in her career.

She posted a good effort last time out at Wolverhampton when making eye-catching headway over 5f out and a repeat of that performance should see her go close. Dunlop’s filly is a half-sister to a winner on this surface and the slight drop back in trip will only aid her cause.

Eyes may be the one to chase her home after a creditable effort over 1m2f at Chelmsford latest, but has questions to answer over this trip.

1st Maxine 7/2, 2nd Eyes 6/1

JENNIVERE definitely demands favouritism in the 2:10 after a solid effort over course and distance last month, finishing a head second to dual subsequent winner Obtuse. The penny started to drop late on in that contest, and she finished with a flurry to go close in first-time cheek pieces. That headgear is refitted today and if we see a repeat of that performance she may be hard to peg back out of stall 4.

Twentsharesofgrey could follow Amy Murphy filly’s to the line for the in form Simon Dow after travelling powerfully last time at Kempton to progress from the back of the field to take second.

1st Jennivere 5/2, 2nd Twenysharesofgrey 5/1

In the 3:10, Luke Morris’ mount QUEENS ROAD could be the one to mount a challenge to the well fancied favourite Passional, who is aiming to land a hat-trick here under a penalty. The former finished 3 lengths behind the latter when they last met in November, but was short of room and denied a clear run.

Today there is a 9lb swing in the favour of Bill Turner’s contender and Luke Morris returns to the saddle following his win here yesterday, hoping to spoil the party for the Stuart Williams stable-star.

Mercers may also run with credit if bouncing back from three substandard efforts at the back end of last year.

1st Queens Road 11/1, 2nd, Mercers 20/1
