Pony Club open show a success despite weather

DESPITE heavy rain, thunder and lightning, the Open Summer Show organised by Crawley and Horsham South Pony Club went ahead as planned recently at Castle Goring.

It was their first open summer show for some years, and the show secretary and course builder were first to arrive as the sky darkened and lightening forked above, depite earlier forecasts for sunshine.

Even so entrants began arriving and the show got under way as the heavens opened once again. The organisers would like to say a huge thank you to all those competitors, judges and stewards who braved the morning downpours and stuck it out to dry out nicely bylunch time.

Enough entries were taken to make a show of it even though a couple of classes did look a little depleted. Despite being drenched first thing everyone had a good time battling it out in a variety of jumping, working hunter and showing classes not forgetting full on fun with handy pony and gymkhana games.
