Table-topping H&B will resume their Kent One campaign at home to King’s College Hospital tomorrow (Saturday, kick-off 3pm) keen to put behind them a 50-14 loss to Old Whitgiftians in last weekend’s London & SE Junior Vase semi-final.

Brooks said: “We had a chat after the game, Jimmy (Adams, captain) rallied the troops and we’ve drawn a line under this. I’ve absolutely no doubt we’ll bounce back with all systems firing this Saturday.

“I don’t think the guys will be horribly affected by the defeat. They know they took a thumping that’s for sure, but they will be determined to put it right before any slide sets in and we’re very good at learning from our mistakes.”

H&B are seven points clear at the top of Kent One with five games remaining. They’ve won 16 of their 17 league matches so far, and have scored more points than anybody else in the league and conceded fewer.

King’s College are 28 points behind H&B in fifth place having won 10 of their 17 outings. One of their six defeats was a 22-10 loss in the reverse fixture on Bonfire Night.

Harry Walker is unavailable and Dom Sewell (shoulder) is likely to be out for a while, but Eliot Parry is set to return.
