They played in Division 1 against Warwickshire, Middlesex and Yorkshire at the Nottingham Tennis Centre.

Sussex and Middlesex both had convincing wins, setting the scene for a thrilling final. In the end, Sussex lost by just one game to Middlesex, putting them second in the country.

Team captain Clay Iles, who was assisted by Hollie Gosden, said: "It was a fantastic team effort.

"All the girls will be going over in their minds how the odd game here or there could have given us the title but they shouldn't as each one gave their all."
