Top lots up for grabs at benefit night

A MOUTHWATERING array of auction items are lined up for Liam Cox and James Duffell's benefit evening at Sidley United Football Club on Saturday April 3.

The pick of the bunch would appear to be a pair of VIP tickets, including meals, to a Chelsea game of your choice at Stamford Bridge courtesy of Autoglass.

Other articles on the agenda include a framed Roy Keane shirt, Euro 2004 football signed by Lennart Johansson, signed pennants from Arsenal, Liverpool, Aston Villa, Millwall, Southampton, Wolves and West Ham United, a year's full membership at the luxury Crowhurst Park Leisure Complex, signed pair of Leon Knight's boots, signed footballs from Manchester United, Celtic, Rangers, Everton, Brighton and Charlton Athletic, a framed John Terry boot, a signed Bobby Zamora Tottenham shirt plus signed shirts from Brighton & Hove Albion, England international Gareth Barry, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Sunderland and Crystal Palace as well as VIP tickets to watch a recording of BBC's Top Gear programme and a chance to meet the stars.

There are also plenty of raffle prizes such as 100 cash, a 14 inch colour television, DVD player plus 25 worth of CD vouchers and a cuddly bear courtesy of the Bexhill Observer. The draw will be conducted by special guests Dean White and Paul Watson of Brighton & Hove Albion.

First up though is an "A Question of Sport" style quiz involving teams from Sidley United, Glenco FC, the Abbey FC and the Comet pub which should be the prelude to a memorable evening.

Sidley joint manager Andy Laskey said: "It should be a great night and there's some cracking prizes. The support from other clubs has been absolutely brilliant. The number of people that said they're coming, it's not just Sidley United but it's almost the whole football community. A lot of people have put a lot of hard work into it." The Brewers Decorators Merchants-sponsored evening starts at 7.30pm prompt.
