Trio of teams off to Wincanton

MAY saw the culmination of months of hard work training to competition standard for members of the Pony Club South Central Area 13, when the finals of the Prince Philip Cup Mounted Games were held in Eashing, Surrey.

Individual teams made up of five members from each Pony Club branch were riding for an opportunity to qualify for the Zone Finals, to be held at Wincanton Racecourse in July.

Crawley and Horsham South Pony Club had put in plenty of preparation and its senior team took part in the morning competition when three teams qualified to go to Wincanton.

The games were fast and furious under a layer of dark cloud. However, spirits were high, the adrenaline was running, and the teams were fired up for the challenge in hand.
