Why not take the opportunity to cast your vote for your favourite artwork by visiting the forthcoming Bexhill Art Society exhibition?
The show will be held in the Studio at the De la Warr Pavilion from Saturday August 29 until Bank Holiday Monday August 31. This is an opportunity for the society’s members to display their skills to the public at large, and some members will also be demonstrating their skills at painting during the event.
The Society, which began in 1961, is holding this annual exhibition and sale of members work which will be open from 11-5pm on Saturday, 10-5pm on Sunday/Monday. Admission free. There will be approximately 200 paintings and a wide selection of handmade greetings cards for sale.
During the three days visitors will be invited to vote for their ‘Best in Show’ and the winning artist will be awarded the Terry Carter Cup, named after the founder member.
There will be a raffle, the prizes being paintings by local artists, such as Switch Hit! by David Hobson which was shortlisted in a national competition. Other works will be Flowers by Penny Fawkner and a landscape by Rosemary Hodge.
The exhibition will be formally opened by Cllr Stuart Earl at 11.15am on Saturday August 29 following a preview.
