Artist Cathy Simpson is celebrating another year of living and working in St Leonards with an exhibition entitled ‘Fishing for Buoys’ at the Gill Gallery, in Kings Road, from August 3 to 24.

Cathy is a cartoonist and illustrator, but has also exhibited her work with the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour.

Her paintings have been described as looking like brightly coloured jewels.

Much of the work is inspired by the bright light and sights of the coast in this area, but there are also experimental pieces and some small pen and ink drawings.

Meet the artist on August 10 from 10am to 1pm.

The gallery is open Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm, apart from Wednesday 10am to 1pm.
