Don’t miss spectacular performances of Shakespeare’s classic comedy As You Like It and great romantic tragedy Romeo And Juliet this summer.
The GB Theatre Company is a British theatre company performing classic plays around the UK and internationally. Established in 2010, by Gillian Roca and Barrie Palmer, the company has an excellent reputation for staging outstanding drama and has Felicit Kendal as Patron.
The group is performing Romeo and Juliet tonight in the Old Chapel, in Alfriston, and then brings As You Like It to Robertsbridge Village hall, tomorow - Saturday July 23, and then goes westward again to Herstmonceux Castle for Romeo And Juliet on Sunday evening.
Tickets for the Robertsbridge performance which begins at 7.30pm cost £12.50 for adults and £9 for under-16s, and are available from www.gbtheatre.com, and at Judges Bakery, in Robertsbridge.
Next month Arundel Castle is to host another feast of Shakespeare this summer as part of the magnificent Arundel Festival with two spectacular alfresco performances from the GB Theatre Company in the Collector Earl’s Garden at the Castle - As You Like It on August 26, and Romeo and Juliet on August 27. The Castle’s outdoor Shakespeare performances, now in their seventh year, are a highlight of the Arundel Festival – and one of the UK’s most unique ways to enjoy the Bard’s work. Performances start at 7.30pm, but castle grounds open at 5.30pm and the Collector Earl’s Garden gates at 6.30pm.
Tickets are priced from £16 for children and £26 for adults. Ticket holders are invited to arrive early and enjoy their picnics in the Castle grounds before the performances commence in The Collector Earl’s Garden.
