Rye Dance Centre’s latest show, Super Duper, in the White Rock Theatre on Saturday February 6 promised to be an extravaganza of song and dance, and did not disappoint.
All styles of dance were included, from elegant ballet work to tap, all performed to immaculate standard. Consistently, the choreography of principal Joanne Fletcher wowed the crowds, with innovative new dances, as well as older ones from the dance school’s history. From comedy to romance, the afternoon had something for everyone, and it was remarkable to see the audience laugh one second and get the tissues out the next. As many of the dances are being competed in local festivals in the next few months, it was lovely to see students dance purely for fun. Without the obvious enjoyment and comradery felt by all the students, the audience would never have had so much fun! I wish all
the pupils who danced the very best of luck with their upcoming competitions. By Olli Hopkins.
