BAZAAR: Tomorrow, Saturday, afternoon the Catholic Church will be holding the annual Christmas Bazaar. The doors open at 2.15pm entrance 50p. Stalls will include raffle, tombola, seasonal gifts, cakes, gifts children’s corner tea and mince pies. This is always one of the best Christmas bazaars and you are very welcome to go along.
PRIZE BINGO: On Sunday the ever popular Christmas charity prize bingo will be held. This will take place in the village hall, entry is free with bingo books at £1 each for 24 chances to win prizes. There will also be a raffle. The doors will open at 2pm. Any prize donations would be very welcome. Call 01435 882107 if you have something you wish to be collected. Refreshments will include home made cakes and mince pies. All proceeds will go towards the Christmas Day lunch for those who live alone. Any remaining money will be given to Demelza, our charity for the coming year.

Hide AdFESTIVE EVENING: The Burwash Festive Evening will be held on Wednesday beginning at 5pm, with a variety of events through out the village. There will be stalls in the Rose and Crown and the Bear, wreath making demonstration at the flower shop. There will be a children’s corner at Cheriton, including Santa’s Grotto, free games of the edge with a prize for both adults and children. Also there will be a chance for you to see real husky dogs in Chaplins, a colouring competition for the children, a lucky dip and a tombola. Free tea/coffee/hot chocolate in Chaplins. Marco the Magician will be in the Scout hut, where they will sell winter soup and sweets. The Penticle Drummers will be marching down the high Street. Hog roast, Burwash Beauties and burgers for all and lots more. The lights on the high street will be turned on at 6pm. We look forward to seeing you all there.
CARDS: Burwash Brownies will once again be delivering Christmas Cards around the village. Every year they deliver upward of 1000 cards for people who are lucky enough to use the service. They are so grateful to everyone who does. You too can use this service, it costs 20p per card and there will be a post box in the Butchers and The Stores. You should put the card and your money into the boxes by Friday December 16. The boxes will be collected at 4pm that day and the cards will then be sorted. The delivery will be on Saturday December 17 from 10am. Please be sure to make the address plain to read and only use the local Burwash area. If unsure if an address is in the delivery area please call Mary 882107.
