Residents have been left ‘shaken up’ after an attempted burglary at a home in Polegate, police have said.

Officers said sometime between 9.50am-11.30am on Friday, December 9, a suspect gained entry to the secure rear garden of a property in Old Drive and damaged a window to try and access the house.

A Sussex Police spokesperson added: “While the efforts were unsuccessful and nothing was stolen from the address, the attempted burglary has left the occupants feeling very shaken up.

“Officers are investigating and would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area around that time, particularly any other residents who saw someone in and around their gardens.”
