SUSSEX Sharks narrowly failed to give their NatWest T20 Blast hopes a lift when they lost by four runs to Gloucestershire in a thriller at Hove.
Ed Joyce’s men had won two and lost two before this but could go second with a win.
Gloucestershire piled up 189 for six with Yasir Arafat taking three for 38. In reply Sussex ended on 185 all out, Will Beer bowled off the last ball for a 17-ball 37 when one more four would have earned a tie.
Rory Hamilton-Brown struck 49 off 29 balls for the hosts, but they fell just short
