For the first time local singer songwriter Rich Lown is to perform a special one-off show with a full band at the White Rock Theatre on Friday March 24 from 7.30pm.

After making his White Rock debut five years ago as support for Joan Armatrading, Rich was invited to share the stage with her on a further 15 occasions around the UK on her last major tour.

Alongside making a name for himself up and down the country with his ‘folky rock tones’, he has also managed to independently release two albums.

His most recent was Brand New Start which reached as high as 15th in the iTunes Singer Songwriter charts.

Rich to this date has sold music to 32 countries, has his music featured on TV and film and played alongside many acts such as Toploader and Chris Difford.

Most recently Rich had been nominated for the first ever televised Unsigned Music Awards for Best Solo Male and has been approached by British Airways to feature his song on a Ones To Watch playlist within its entertainment system to be heard by one million people every month.

See what all the fuss is about for yourself as Rich plays a selection of songs from both his albums as well as a few well-known surprises thrown in the mix. The night will be filmed and recorded for a live album scheduled for Summer 2017 release.

Rich will have support from singer-songwriters Holly Fraser and Beth Jakob.

He said: “It’s going to be fantastic night and it’s a project I’ve wanted to do for years now. To be able to put on my own show is one thing but to be able to perform as a band is another thing I wanted to tick off my list. It’s an opportunity to take my audience on a journey from how I first started playing to where I’m at now 10 years later. It also gives me the chance to really portray the recordings of my previous albums exactly how they were made and not just acoustically. I also have some major surprises up my sleeve! My music has being going from strength to strength lately and I really want to show my hometown exactly what I can do alongside a band that boasts playing credits such as Status Quo, The Darkness, Bryan Adams, Artful, Craig David and much more.” Book on 01424 462288 or whiterocktheatre.org.uk
