GCSEs: How great it was to hear about Claremont Senior School in Bodiam achieved an outstanding set of GCSE results with 94 per cent overall grade ranking A - C. The school has outperformed last year’s results in every department in the school.

Triathlon: Bodiam Castle triathlon takes place on September 13 registration will open at 6.30am. It promises to be a great day out for the family

Castle: The National Trust Bodiam Castle Bodiam news have decided to revamp and update the newsletter. I felt how very good the pace was on Bodiamd guided walk review by National trust volunteer Michael Walker but I did not know that Levetts Lane was named after the first female professor of history Elizabeth Levett. I was told that the Levett family of Bodiam had the field that Levetts Lane is on and so had the field was named after them. Also Michael said about the footpath from Court Lodge Farm down to Bodiam; to me one of the best footpaths in Bodiam

Council meetings: Bodian Parish Council has many famous people to its meetings - Graham Peters, Geoffrey Goodsell and that very hard worker Sue Prochak, who one day will make a very good counsellor, but on September 21 the next council meeting at 7pm in the Parish Room the parish council will have councillor James Carroll, chairman of Rother District Council, to say a few words and to see life outside of Bexhill

Quiz: A pub quiz will take place on October 7 at 7:30 PM at the Castle Inn. Tickets are £12 each including supper. Teams and tables of eight, please. There are limited spaces so book your table in advance. Call Van Keeling on (01580) 850342. All proceeds to St Giles church Bodiam.
