Village Hall: Tomorrow the hall will be busy all day when in the morning, Catsfield welcomes the Rt Rev'd Mark Sowerby, the Bishop of Horsham who will be leading a teaching day from 10am '“ 2pm on the Importance of Holy Communion. As soon as the hall is cleared from that event, preparations will be made by the fundraisers for St Laurence's Church, who will be hosting a celebration of Burn's Night at 7.30pm. There will be a three course traditional Burn's Night Dinner and a '˜wee dram' served to all those lucky enough to have booked their places in time.

Lent: St Laurence Church fundraisers will be holding a Lent Lunch in the Village Hall on Saturday 27th February from 11.30am – 1.30pm. Tickets will cost £5 for adults and £3.50 for children and will be available soon. There will also be a concert held in the church on Friday 11th March, more details to follow.

Jumble Sale: Advance notice that the Catsfield WI will be holding a Jumble Sale in the Village Hall on a date in March still to be announced, so please put aside any unwanted Christmas gifts or other items of clothing, homeware and bric a brac that can be sold to boost fundraising for our charity, The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.

Sport: Last weekend was another lost sporting weekend, with only five football matches played in the East Sussex League. Ours was called off because of a water logged pitch, but some pitches were frozen, so you just can’t win this winter. We hope to play Hastings Rangers at home tomorrow, when a win could lift us off the bottom spot. There are still ten matches left to play this season. If you saw the pictures of Battle Recreation pitch in the paper last week, you would realise that our Playing Field is not as bad as theirs, thanks to the Parish Council spending money on the drainage over the years. It is incredible that a town as big as Battle, has only one pitch plus the use of one at Claverham.
