The film stars Ralph Fiennes alongside such other great names as Harvey Keitel, Willem Dafoe, Tilda Swinton and the grand old man himself, Bill “Groundhog Day” Murray.

THE MESSENGER: Yve Puxty writes: New committee members are needed for The Messenger. We need a chair/minutes secretary for two meetings a year at most, and a treasurer. The treasurer’s role is not particularly time consuming and is only mainly for a period of three months receiving advertising money and subscriptions and banking it when next in Battle. Apart from those first three months, there will just be the odd fiver coming in as new people subscribe.

MOUNTFIELD CLUB: The turnout for the recent St. Michael’s Hospice quiz night was poor but Steve Smith would like to thank those who did turn out and who have made donations.

The winning team was Steve Sutton and Andy Saunders with Peta Marsh the gallant runners up. Colin Elmes has opened up a five point lead in the Club’s individual snooker Winter League with only six weeks remaining. Kevin Gray is currently in second place with games in hand and Andy Saunders and Steve smith are joint third. The Club’s Fred Stace Darts and Shove tournaments will be held this year on Saturday 19th March. There will also be a Easter egg raffle on the night. The next family quiz night will be on April 16th. Finally, a reminder to all Club members that your membership fees are now due and the club AGM will be held on Monday April 4th. Please contact Steve smith for any more information on any of the Clubs events on 07720.298971.

CONTACT: As ever, if you have anything for the Village Voice, we can be contacted on 880614 or via [email protected].
