Thank you to all who organised

This was the response to Robertsbridge’s bonfire celebrations last Saturday.

And we had the extraordinary experience of Guy Fawkes as the huge effigy talking to us! Is this a first?

The effigy finally morphed into David Cameron and this went the way of all bonfire effigies – up in smoke.

I wonder if David Cameron knows he has become a popular effigy for bonfire societies – a dubious honour!

This was followed by the most wonderful firework display I’ve ever seen in Robertsbridge.

A huge thank you to those who work all year round to make this annual event so special.

To stage such a spectacle involves an enormous amount of organisation, fundraising and hard work – all on a voluntary basis.

Congratulations to Robertsbridge Bonfire Society.
