UPDATE: Woman arrested over drink-driving after Rye Harbour car crash

A woman was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after a car crash in Rye Harbour on Tuesday night (August 9).

A Lexus travelling north collided with a stationary Saab and ended up on top of it on Harbour Road, some 200 metres south of the A259 Winchelsea Road.

Paramedics were called at around 9.40pm and treated the drivers of both vehicles, a man and a woman in their 40s, for minor injuries before they were taken to the Conquest Hospital.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after failing a roadside breath test.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service crews from Rye and Broad Oak were also sent to the scene.
